Unlimited

At the end of a tea bag string, the tag reads “You are unlimited”. Of all the adjectives I could use to describe myself, unlimited would not have been on the list. Not for any bad reason. Cell phone minutes can be unlimited. Rental car miles, unlimited. Unlimited access or travel. But me? What is unrestricted, undefined, not bound by exceptions about me? It is an interesting concept that I had to consider over my piping hot cup of herbal tea. I am still practicing the exquisite joy of being me from a couple of posts ago, daily asking the question, “What wonderful things am I going to accomplish today?” The possibilities, I guess, are unlimited. It’s like that icebreaker question that is supposed to make participants feel warm and fuzzy toward each other in seminars and training sessions: What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

If? The tea bag says I am unlimited. Not could be. Not will be. Present tense with a silent reprimand–stop squandering this gift. Embrace the potential and run with it. Start talking to yourself like a child. when we were children, people told us, “You can be whatever you want to be. You can do anything.” Then we grew up. Our super powers got boxed in by responsibility and practicality. Most of us have brains that are dying to show off what they can do.

Or perhaps we have gone too far in the other direction–stretched so thin that what should be strong, broad brush strokes of impact end up as thin, inconsequential lines. It’s time to regroup.

So look in the mirror and say, “I am unlimited!”

Come on, you can do better than that.

    I AM UNLIMITED!

Unlimited in love, joy, peace, ability, creativity, intelligence, potential. Unlimited by circumstances or other people’s opinions.

What does “unlimited” mean to you?
