Principle #8 – Chunking

I know you think I forgot about this week’s principle, but I have been busy chunking. All of this talk about having big goals brings me to the next phase of pursuing and accomplishing my goals (I have one massive, you-can’t-be-serious goal in mind). The expression ‘chunking’ reminds me of the old question: How do you eat an elephant? If you have heard that question before, you probably remember the answer:

One bite at a time.

It’s the kind of pseudo-witty tidbit I might throw out to a time management audience during a lunch and learn. When I think of chunking, I think of that elephant. This week’s principle requires me to think of all of the steps required to accomplish my goal. Divide the whole into parts and conquer.

Otherwise, let’s face it, I’ll stare at it, with a daft, blank look and possibly convince myself that it can’t be done.

I’m joking, of course. I don’t really have a daft look.
